The One with the Ryanair Flight

9.1.22

It was a crazy time when I learned that I would have to go to a physical bank to actually get a new bank card. But I do love London so you never have to convince me too had to travel there!

By some kind of magic I was able to score a flight that was only €13. Amazing, right?!

But of course there was a catch. I had to only bring one small bag on board with me.

For most people that would be a tricky task! It was not too bad for me luckily since I did just have my main travel bag with me, but it did mean that I would have to probably wear all of my clothes again on the flight.

Yes, I’ve done this before. Being joey from friends just seems to be my destiny it seems.

I strategically planned out my outfit the night before: I was going to wear my black tights underneath the leggings that I had previously ripped when I was heading to my Airbnb.

Over that pair of leggings was yet another pair of leggings, my only other pair actually that I had with me.

If you thought it stopped there, you would be sorely mistaken. I have this tight black knee length pencil skirt that I put on over that as well.

And for tops? Well I had on one tank top, over that a black top that is supposed to be considered as thermal though I’m not sure how thermal you can get for 8 pounds at Primark.

Then followed my teal velvet wrap shirt from American Apparel; this presented an interesting challenge because it is quite tight in the arms. But we must move forward! The only way out was through! Or so I thought.

I then put on my black turtleneck from Calvin Klein, though it was actually purchased on discount from Winners back in Canada. Love that place! It’s basically the equivalent to the UK/German TK/TJ Maxx.

Finally, I put on my Christmas sweater. The one that says “Let it snow” but in a creative way. Let me show you:

Love getting good gifts from friends! I actually wear it almost every night to sleep; it is so comfy.

And there we had it: I somehow still looked not to bad since everything was tight, but I definitely felt the heat. I was so exited to be going onto a plane where I would have to remain this way.

BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED!

You want to know why? Because I was somehow, on this magical €13 flight, alone in my row.

It finally happened—for the first time in my life I had an entire row to myself. And boy, was I going to enjoy it.

I started by taking off the scarf and hat (whoops! Must have not mentioned it is winter so I have these things, in addition to my black coat) and my creative Christmas sweater.

Then I cheekily moved over to the window seat. I was designated in the aisle, which I was originally happy about since then I could have easy access to the toilet without interrupting anyone.

Then I began writing this hilarious article. (Jokes, but I am having a great time.)

Then somehow the pilot announced we would be slowly starting our descent in 8 minutes. Well, I know a flight from Germany to England is not the most lengthy flight, but wow! Time flies when you are having fun.

Soon I’ll have to put this iPad away but I am going to see if they notice that I changed seats and can stay here to have a close window view of the approaching England landscape.

If the plane gods ever shine their light upon you in this way, enjoy it. Every last moment. Freedom!

Picture of all the newfound space I suddenly had down below; we can’t forget the wine!

xoxo
